Our team has recently had the pleasure of working with some great people at Starbucks on a project that we are very excited to share about. The Starbucks Reserve® Roastery & Tasting Room has just opened its doors at 1124 Pike St. in Seattle, where they are roasting their exceptional line of Starbucks Reserve® coffees.
At the Roastery you will see baristas and roasters sporting custom designed aprons produced by Hardmill, as well as a few Hardmill products for sale, designed exclusively for the Starbucks Reserve® Roastery and Tasting Room.
Our skilled team of artisans also did all of the custom leatherwork throughout the Roastery, from the hand-stitched leather railings to the leather wrapped menus, so don’t miss a stop by this incredible destination and enjoy one of the finest cups of coffee available!
The new Hardmill video is live! Head on over to the About Us section on our website to check it out.
A big thanks to the great team over at Watertown Films for making this happen.
We are very excited to have our aprons available at a new men's accessories boutique in Seattle, Hammer + Awl. They opened their doors in October, and have a particularly well curated collection of men’s accessories and crafted goods - from bags to bow ties to the Hardmill Rugged Apron. Located in the beautiful Madrona neighborhood, Hammer + Awl is surely not a shop to be missed!

A big thanks to a couple great websites that have been giving us some love lately. Check out the articles...
"Hardmill's rugged aprons are made of dudely things like army duck waxed canvas, selvage denim, hand-dyed leather, and copper rivets, plus snakes and snails and puppy dog tails. This is so that when wearing them no one will confuse you for a sissy man or Paula Deen."
"Their first product is this manly Rugged Apron, handcrafted in the US from army duck waxed canvas and hand-dyed leather, this is definitely something every man should have."
"So enamored are we with the Hardmill Rugged Apron, that we undertook an exclusive apron photo shoot of our own volition, soliciting the help of some equivalently rugged menfolk to model our favorites from the Hardmill line. The models on Hardmill’s website were a little…frail looking. It’s best to pair a butch apron with a butch fella, and we think you’ll agree."
We are very excited to announce our first brick & mortar partner, E. Smith Mercantile, of Pioneer Square in Seattle!
E. Smith Mercantile is a truly beautiful store, offering some of the highest quality goods you will find in Seattle. With a carefully curated assortment of home goods, high quality basic apparel, gift items, and antiques, it is definitely one you don't want to miss! So stop on by and say hello to the friendly staff, and find your next treasure...there is surely something for everyone. We are also eagerly awaiting the craft cocktail bar being installed in the back of the shop, opening later this summer...can't wait!
Hardmill is open for business!
There have been many late nights, cigars smoked, and glasses of whiskey drank leading up to this day, and we are so excited to be able to share with you what we have been working so hard on.
Here is a little history of how the company came about:
After hanging up my chef coat from working in a fine restaurant for a few years, I (Ryan) began searching for a well made apron to wear while cooking at home. Unsatisfied with the options on the market, my brother (Michael) and I teamed up to begin prototyping aprons that would be stylish yet rugged, one that any man would feel comfortable in. Thus Hardmill was born. After many months of hard work, we believe we a have a very quality product and are proud to have it bear the Hardmill name.
We will not be ending with aprons, but rather, just beginning. Our team is currently designing and crafting a full line of kitchenwares & home goods. We believe in simple design, the use of traditional materials & manufacturing methods, and crafting rugged quality products, built to withstand the test of time.
Please stay tuned. We are so grateful for your support, and are very excited to show you what's to come.
